“My Hotmail account has been hacked”

If you think that your hotmail account may have been ‘hacked’ read on. This is very uncommon, but if you are worried, read this article to see what to do. The principles also apply to other web-based email systems as well.

There are 2 options here which may work:

Do you still have access to your account?

if so – change your password, update your secret answer or update or change your alternate email address

If you DO NOT have access to your account then:

Try the suggestions on the Password reset page

Try to verify that the account is yours using validation.  You will need to provide quite a few details about your account.  Here are a few questions from the Validation form:
